Bach Flower Therapy
Dr. Edward Bach (1886-1936), a British physician, bacteriologist, homeopath and researcher, developed bach flower remedies to restore emotional balance in his patients. Dr. Bach observed and classified 38 negative states of mind common to everyone. He recognized that negative states such as jealousy, fear, worry, hopelessness and lack of confidence induce imbalance and disharmony. Dr. Bach used the flowers from 38 plants and trees (corresponding with each of the 38 negative states) to prepare essences, in diluted form, to alleviate emotional imbalance.
Our pets have feelings and experience a multitude of emotions, both positive and negative. Our pets can become stressed from changes to the environment such as adjusting to a new home, the loss of a loved one, loud noise (thunderstorms, fireworks, etc.), motion sickness or fear of travel. We need to be aware that our pets may react to stressful changes in their environment by hiding or feeling anxious, fearful, lonely, or by becoming depressed. At our clinic, we use (diluted) bach flower remedies to help restore the emotional wellbeing of our patients.
